Lux Interior RIP (The Cramps)

Posted by Adrian on February 5, 2009

A hugely influential band and probably one of the most original acts that came out of America in the last 40 years. It just proves how important a subculture is to general culture, a creation of originality especially within the arts. As far as bands go, Nirvana changed this when the released Nevermind in the early 1990’s; hence underground acts became marketable (and predictable). Still the cramps remained as a truly unique band, who were able to mix Rockabilly, sex, drugs, grindhouse cinema and some more sex to create a sound that none have been able to rival.

Lux Interior died Feb 4 2009, he was 64
